Black Friday: Shopping with Intention
Share
Will I buy something on Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Probably. I “need” a new coffee burr and I want a new Oura Ring in a different size and mayyyyybe that new computer that I’ve been putting off for a year.
Will I buy a million toys for my kids? A bunch of clothes I wouldn’t buy at full price? Random crap because an influencer said it was a good deal? Nah. (no shade on influencers, just know that not all are created equal and some promote products they don’t use…ya know like celebrity endorsements…do you really think Sabrina Carpenter drinks Dunkin’ Refreshers? Or that NFL athletes are munching on Papas Johns and Subway and soda?)
How to temper the physiological pull?
-
Write your list of big ticket items you need or have been wanting now.
-
Check the price NOW. Because sometimes when they say it's half off…well that’s because the price was jacked up yesterday and it’s not really a deal or not.
-
Check if it fits into your budget.
-
And then…stick to your list.
Too much? Are you an all or nothing person? Well…put the phone away that day and #optoutside.
