Ode to to my Buerstenhaus Redecker Brooms

A daily ritual that is actually made better by a beautifully crafted product. It’s one of the few products we import, because it’s such high quality that cant be replicated.
Buerstenhaus Redecker has been hand making wares since 1935. We love them because they are practical, beautiful, and sustainably sourced, produced and made. We value the ability to work with companies whose values reflect our own.
Horsehair bristles that won’t scratch floors like nylon would, sustainably produced, and just timeless…a broom you don’t need to store in a cupboard. And I actually enjoy my sweeping ritual..unlike a crappy vacuum
I’ve had the child’s size dust pan under my kitchen sink for 10 years, while I prefer the petite size, but we have “adult size” ones too.
We ship these all over the country to folks seeking out their craftsmanship and quality. While the sticks themselves can be pricey to ship (and the threaded in particular can be hard to find locally because it's not a standard US size), the price point is still very reasonable.
We loved this thoughtful review from a customer.
I've owned many brooms over the years. Bound straw brooms, push brooms, kitchen brooms, etc. I was never really happy with their performance or appearance. On a trip to Germany, I discovered this style broom and set about trying to find one in the USA. I am happy to say I finally did. At last, I am not ashamed to display my broom. This is a beautiful work of art made of warm natural products. Unlike other brooms, if I sweep a spot, I sweep up all the fine dust and powder on the first pass. I could not be happier to finally have the broom I always imagined must exist, but never saw before.
Storage Tips:
always store your broom with the bristles off the floor, either on a hook, or upside down. if the bristles are left pushing down on the floor they will flatten. it's a beautifully crafted broom so you can keep it in site.
Cleaning Tips:
I rarely need to clean my broom, i'll just give it a good shake in the trash or use my hands to pick out any clumps, however should you bristles need a wash, use a mild soap, like castile to hand wash. make sure that it able to dry throughly (bristles down but off the floor) so that water does not collect in the wood.
And its not just the brooms. Check out all our Redecker Products that we carry. Looking for something specific? We are always happy to special order products for you as well. Some of best recommendations have come from customers!
