The Best Gifts That you Already Have

Sometimes the best things are the most thoughtful…or nearly free, but sometimes you might have a brain lapse thinking of them… we thought of some of our favorites, and polled our own community to get some ideas!

  • Recipes: this has been done in a few different ways, all of which are wonderful

    • A favorite family recipe (either photocopied the original) or rewrote with or without all the ingredients

    • One of my favorite recipes for years has been the Oh She Glows 10 Spice Soup Mix. My cousin once gave me a bag of the 10 spice mix, which is the most labor intensive part, and a nicely printed recipe card

  • Gifting something they’ve admired in your home that’s no longer serving you…perhaps a special family necklace, or bowl, or some toys your kids are no longer playing with…possibilities are endless! But if someone ever told you how much they love your….[insert here] could make for a great gift if you are no longer using it!

  • A great book you’ve read. I love a good book recommendation. And when a friend wraps up one their favorites and hands it along, dog eared at all, that makes for a special gift.

  • A scheduled date. Sometimes the hardest part of getting together, I find, is scheduling. Perhaps you take the hard part of our it with a note that says..meet me here on March 2 for a walk, a coffee….generally if its in the calendar far enough in advance, it’ll happen!

  • From our community:

    • My grandmother’s percolator

    • My husband kintsugi repaired a little blue cup that I found in the woods and loved but had loved

    • Family vacation to Maine all planned

    • A camera backpack, while it wasn’t free, it saved me hours of research
